2010-2011 Public Service and Social Innovation Fellowships

Together, APPLES Service-Learning Program and the Carolina Center for Public Service provide summer and academic year-long fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in creating and sustaining collaborative research and innovative public service projects designed to address identified needs in communities in North Carolina and around the world.

  • Community Based Research SURF Fellowship: Up to seven undergraduates are granted up to $3500 to plan and implement community-based research projects either locally or beyond.
  • Robert E. Bryan Fellowship: Up to five undergraduate or graduate students are awarded up to $3000 for Public Service projects that cater to the needs of communities in North Carolina.
  • Entrepreneurial Public Service Fellowship: Up to four undergraduate or graduate students receive grants of up to $3000 to perform social entrepreneurship projects either locally or globally.
